Celebrating National Women's Month — The Women of the Lobster Trap

Throughout the course of history, women have played an integral part in the success of the companies they’ve worked for, and the Lobster Trap is no exception. As a part of National Women’s Month, we would like to introduce you to some of our amazing women who help make us who we are today.

Nicole Hunt

Responsibilities at the Lobster Trap?
Nicole handles our express shipping department.

What do you enjoy most about the Trap team?
“The people, especially the other women.” I love this quote from Gloria Vanderbilt- “I’ve always believed that one woman’s success can only help another woman’s success."

What is your favorite seafood dish?
Steamers with melted butter.

On a personal note. . .
Nicole is extremely close to her family and enjoys being that aunt that gets to spoil her nieces and nephews! For fun she enjoys hiking on the Cape Cod Canal.

Laurie Kinsella

Responsibilities at the Lobster Trap?
Laurie handles orders from our Lobsters-Online eCommerce platform.

What brought you to the Lobster Trap?
“I wanted to get back into an office environment and felt my seafood knowledge and previous experience would be a good fit.”

What is your favorite seafood dish?
“It would be easier to tell you what type of seafood I DON’T like, as I like just about all of it. If I had to choose, it would be seared tuna with wasabi.”

On a personal note...
Laurie has several family members, including her mother, sister, and 2 of her 3 sons, that all live in the Plymouth, MA area. Laurie enjoys walking and cycling-especially on the Cape Cod Canal. She loves the beach and spends as much time as she can there swimming and kayaking. She enjoys live music, reading, and playing pool, cards, and darts.

Jen Martin

Responsibilities at the Trap?
Jen wears many different hats throughout her day in the seafood room. From receiving/processing orders, completing the fulfillment process for both local and domestic seafood orders, providing high levels of quality assurance for those products to even hopping in a truck when needed to help deliver those products to the customer, she has a hand in just about everything.

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Trap team?
“I love that the Trap has a small business mentality even though we are a large company. At the Trap, I am treated like family. It’s a company that wants to see you move up in the organization and is willing to provide you with an opportunity to be successful. I love that I am able to learn something new every day!”

What is your favorite type of seafood or seafood dish?
If I have to pick my top three, they would be: Swordfish, Sushi, and nothing beats a New England style Fish-n-Chips.

On a personal note...
“The ocean has always been a huge part of my life. I enjoy boating, fishing, and going to the beach. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring new places. I have been blessed to grow up on the shores of New England. I have also lived along different coastlines from Alaska to Florida, and many in-between, as a member of a Coast Guard family.”

Michelle Mark

Responsibilities at the Trap?
Michelle handles the International Sales orders and supports the A/P department.

What brought you to the Trap?
“I was looking for something out of my comfort zone!”
